Investigating space and identity, with all the valencies that these coordinates acquire in literature, passing through the multitude of approaches they require, with a particular intellectual gain for the francophone space – marked by diversity, opening, porosity, by the very idea of relation – attracts and mobilizes important energies in the present research. We intend to enrich the identitary space approach modalities, to reach a complex and updated theorization of this notion, by running over some reprezentative texts for various geoliterary regions and for different genres, following intertextual and transdisciplinary reading grids wherein we preserve a poetical perspective. The attempt to integrate, through this paradigm, regions of the literary francophony that have been studied separately so far, according to geographic criteria, in order to offer a wholistic image, as complex as possible, with converging points and with the differences inherent to this approach represent the major target of this project. We are in the midst of multculturalism by the nature itself of the subject, knowing that every individual, every race, every literature presents its specific manner of relating to the space of its own identity and of rendering it through literature, throught writing. We also intend to enforce the importance of the identitary space in the field of intercultural issues and to detect, through this category, the singularities of the works created by the ever changing cultures (especially those of exile, of migration), in accordance with contemporary world’s rythm.
